Layers & Preps are the key to successful multi level teaching. Layers can focus either on choreography or movement principles. Choreography layers build from the most simple to the final and traditional version of the exercise. Movement principles layers choose 1 theme per layer or across layers in order to help "body" understand what muscles to engager and also how to keep joints free of strain.
First Step: Practice each layer. Listen to verbal cues. Write down exact verbal cues.
Second Step: Figure out purpose of each layer. Write down 2 or 3 important concepts for each layer. These may be movement principles, muscle engagement cues or joint release cues.
